Wait until you can build train station and Expo center near it at the same time and start 1st event cheapest one. Next day spend your profit from 2 events to build gambling house with 4 modules 1 cheap rooms, 2 nice rooms and blackjack and start 2nd event in Expo center medium cost one. Also build 2 more tourist attractors nearby cost 50k and have capacity for tourists watching them.
You may build 1 more casino if you want - but only gambling house or Sleek Casino because they have modules allowing tourists to stay at night. I have a high traffic problem. Use train. I know it is forced decision now but until fixes it is the most or even the only viable.
Then I created one more casino at the opposite end of town, near the water and ferry and airport, and they failed and failed and failed. So I demolished the casinos that were booming. It made no difference. People refused to visit those casinos, even though they were near all the visitor transportation.
Hi guys! Great discussion. I'm really torn between wondering if my casino city troubles are a bug -- or if I'm just not understanding the game mechanics. I'd love to get your opinion on a situation I'm seeing in my city:. I have 2 basic gambling houses that were making great money. I made no major changes to the city, and out of nowhere, within the span of a minute, both casinos went into the red and dropped nearly all of their visitors.
When I queried the wave of regional tourists who were headed back to my regional bus depot, they all said, "There are no hotels here, I'm leaving". I have empty hotels in BOTH of my casinos and some big ones in my commercial areas saying business is just 'ok', indicating that there are indeed available rooms. There was no major change to the city wealth, traffic, or utilities when this happened.
I thought I did everything right. I'm baffled. Never tried ferry but airport is supposed to deal with high level tourists or sometimes medium level so that it has very low capacity anyway - not enough to fill your casino. And btw spreading the tourist flow is a bad decision - they may go shopping on their way instead of visiting your casinos. Personally I dont listen seriously what tourists say. Citizens can say "there is no shops" living right near the shop for their wealth. If tourists leave - that means only one - they are out of money now.

Casinos : Casinos tuned so that Gambling will be a more profitable specialty. Players can bulldoze and replace existing casinos to see effects of tuning. The larger casinos now invite more tourists into the city which helps keep them full. Note that existing casinos will need to be replaced to take advantage of this change. Region Play: Cash gifts can now be received in a bankrupt city.
Education : Fixed school buses getting stuck at the high school. Existing Schools will fix themselves. Education: Fix to more accurately track regional student population. Disasters : Cooldown for random disasters: Some players were getting hit too frequently with random disasters, this introduces a cooldown where no random disasters will occur. Trade : Fix for trade ports that suddenly stop shipping. Transit : Street Cars and Buses go to high volume stops first. Transit: A city with residents and public transit will now provide the accurate amount of workers and shoppers to its neighbors. Transit: A transit vehicle stuck in a pick-up or drop off loop will now go back to a garage instead of trying to pick up more people.
Transit vehicles should recover automatically after the update. If players want to force the recovery, turn off the stops that are having looping issues, wait a few game hours, then turn them back on. Transit: Neighbors buses will now come in lower numbers into the city and do a better job at picking up local passengers first.

Excellent Bill, I think this will be very helpful to both beginners and pro alike, sometimes we get so carried away with a city, that we tend to forget the basics. It's also a good size to print. I totally disagree with starting out with dirt roads, then you have to demolish those which demolishes every thing you build on them to get to the next lvl of road densities.
When you are low on money you start another city, the game makes it so some of your cities fail and some make money even if they have all the same stuff. When you first play you want to play for a long period of time but that's not a good idea.
Once you have the basics in one city start another then wait a day or so. You don't need to demolish your dirt roads. Just click on the upgrade button. It keeps your buildings in place. Check out Skyestorme's videos on how to build a standard cash cow city. There's no reason to ever run out of money. There are certain SimCity strategies that will make your life easier if you follow. Some are due to the way the game is designed, and others are work-arounds to bugs in the game. Water Tip: Ensure a future supply of water.
When you're able to afford it, build water pumps and sewer treatment plants adjacent to each other. Make sure you replace the default water pump with the filtration pumps to remove the ground pollution from the water though. Education Tip: The key to keeping your sims healthy, happy, and preventing crime is Education, Education, Education.
Once you have community colleges and Universities unlocked, demo the grade schools and high schools and their bus stops. There is a bug that causes bused students to disappear, so you want to stay away from those types of schools. Plus, you don't need them. You can get by with just community colleges. If you want a higher tech level, go with a University. Fire Tip: Once you can afford it, build one large fire station with only fire helicopters. Demo all the fire truck garages.
